A lovely gift for a grandson

Midge, one of the lovely ladies from NOTYQ made this quilt for her grandson in Darwin.  It was made from a panel with the sashing and strippy border picking up the colours beautifully.

I quilted it with a pattern called Automation by Lisa Thiessen and I think it really complements the piecing and adds another dimension of more cars and trucks to the quilt.  Midge was very happy when she picked the quilt up this morning and can’t wait to give it to her grandson, however due to the Darwin climate it may be used as a floor quilt rather than a bed cover!

  1. very nice quilt…. I havent done many boys quilts and find then much more difficult to do as I lean towards pretty fabrics. The automotive middles are great and a perfect quilting design!
